Meet your Local Officer - PC Fiona |
||
Dear Resident
I hope this e-mail alert reaches you well! You may have received a few messages from me such as my St Albans District weekly newsletter on Mondays, my Good News stories, or some local Crime Alerts. This message is unique in comparison as it has just been directed at residents within the wards I serve. I'm Fiona, I'm the Neighbourhood Police Officer for London Colney and Colney Heath. I'm one of two Police Officers responsible for these areas and we work alongside our lovely Police Community Support Officers to build stronger relationships with our community, investigate local crime, deliver positive outcomes for victims of crime and ASB, and offer a visible presence across these neighbourhoods. Sadly, there isn't a Police Station in London Colney so I work out of St Albans Police Station, however we do have an office in Colney Fields which I sometimes utilise during my daily patrols. I've worked for Hertfordshire Constabulary for nearly 3 years having joined specifically to work on a Neighbourhood Policing Team. I am passionate about Community Policing and always do my utmost to meet residents within the area, visit community and youth groups, attend Community Engagements, identify problems adversely impacting the Community, and develop problem-solving strategies to address these issues. Whilst my PCSO counterparts dedicate themselves to Community Engagement by offering a reassuring presence to their communities, my role is more focused on local investigations and assessing crime trends. I receive crime reports which benefit from oversight from the Neighbourhood Policing Team and, often in partnership with other agencies, work to deliver positive resolutions for all involved. Not only is it important to identify perpetrators and prevent re-offending through impactive outcomes, my work focuses on safeguarding vulnerable people within our community and preventing residents from becoming victims of crime. I hope that all of this work - including the online community engagement we have created via Herts Connected - increases community confidence in policing and empowers residents like you to come forward and speak to me directly about local concerns. You may have received several invitations to complete a survey but the answers you provide are crucial in my understanding of what issues greatly affect you. Even if you have completed the survey before, you can complete again if there are new concerns which you have not yet raised to us. Please click here to complete:
To conclude, it is my pleasure to work in London Colney and Colney Heath. I do want residents to feel they can approach me to ask questions, inform me of community concerns, or kindly request my attendance to a local event (such as a Summer Fair, Community Group talk, Faith-related event, or Nursery/School/Scout visit). Feel free to save this e-mail so if you wish to contact me directly, you can do so by Replying to this message.
Thank you for reading. Kind regards, Fiona. | ||
